Only in the Valley
Working in the valley it is very common to have Spanish speaking customers, of course, and I have nothing against the beautiful language of Spanish, except for the fact that I CAN'T UNDERSTAND IT! Working at a grocery store that carries many coupons, we usually have Spanish printed on one side and English on the other side, so I don't see how how it is, regardless of what language you speak in to misunderstand a coupon, but some customers decide to "forget" how to read all of a sudden. Well today I had a Spanish speaking customer who didn't understand that she would receive a few free items from the store because of the coupon; I tried my very best to explain to her what she needed to buy to receive those items, but she insisted that the managers fire me because I couldn't speak to her in Spanish. Oh but little did she know the customer behind her was strictly for the English language only and decide to go off on her about how she needed to learn Spanish. The two were so annoyed with each other and almost decided to duke it out in the middle of my check-stand until the managers arrived. Only in the Valley!

15 items or less
I've been working at a grocery store for the past five years, so I've pretty much dealt with people being rude to me almost everyday within those five years, but the other day, I had a customer cussing at me for actually doing my job. I told her I was on the 15 items or less lane and she would need to go on a regular lane on her next visit. This was after I had simultaneously finished scanning her 40+ items and given her a receipt. Apparently I was a lazy cashier and I didn't wanna do my "fckn" job. How unbelievable is that?! You never really know what you;re gonna get next when working with customers.
